A bird in a cage.
Sometimes I feel there isn’t anything more unjust.
A wild, free, and spirited animal locked into wire. Aching and scheming to break out, break free.
Shut down. Shut in. Trapped.
Waiting for the key master to open the invisible lock.
Waiting to do what it was born to do. Fly. Stretch its wings.
Move forward with purpose.
My heart aches so for the bird and its soul.
